Looking Back

After photographing the Class of '09, it made me stop and think about how many of these Seniors I have known literally their entire lives. I photographed the weddings of the parents of CJ Benge, Kristin Cartwright, Callie & Cassie Jameson, and Trace Wilhoit for example. I photographed Jenifer Wilbanks' parents' engagement photos in my backyard when we lived on Monroe St. before I had a real studio. And then of course, along come babies. And then they become Seniors. (I know you moms are already crying)
Here is where people ask me if that makes me feel old and I laugh and say "No". It makes me feel very honored and privileged to have documented their lives and watched as they've grown up into wonderful young people. Some of the Seniors have parents whom I photographed at THEIR graduations (in Pannell auditorium)--Lance and Maggie Clayton, both honor grads, and behold--Chantz! What a treasure.

Others, I have done since they were babies--Aaron Mannon, Cooper McDaniel, Raigan Hargrove. I first took Raigan and Robert Hargrove when they were one and 2 years old. Cute!!!! Aaron Mannan and Emily Connelly are cousins and I photographed them at one year old.
